The funeral

Sorry... Azi's funeral would be announced at a later date.

Only in backward Trinidad, an autopsy cannot be performed over a weekend.
So the family cannot get the remains until that is done, and then Monday is a Public Holiday, so we are looking at Tuesday probably.

Azi

It is with deep sympathy and sadness we remember Azi, who died yesterday.

Azi was transporting goats with his wife, as he suffered a massive heart attack, swerved off the road and ran into a pole. He did not survive. His wife suffered some injuries.

He leaves to mourn his wife and four boys - Kayam, Barry, Kazim and Popo.

The funeral would be tomorrow 30th March.

Folks,

As you know several members of the family have not been feeling well these days - for one reason or another.

Please remember them in your prayers and/or make an effort to visit or call.

The smallest things can go the longest way.

Photos from the Family Day

Ms America before she took off the jacket

1st Annual Family Day - 23rd March, 2008

It was a day of fun, laughter and even tears.

The fun was non-stop as both kids and adults join in on games like musical chairs, lime 'n spoon race, egg hunt, water race etc..

It was held under Uncle Sham's house and across by Deena and Nafeesa.

The laughter was infectious with the 'guess-who' game. Ruqayya had everyone in stitches as she portrayed Aunty Hafo pulling out food from her freezer labeled 'Alloo from Nafeesa's Wedding'...
Naasira had us rolling with her portrayal of Nafeesa and her support for PNM, which was reflected by a huge balisier stuck on her back.

Then there was the fashion show for kids. It was the cutest thing. Nuriyah in her Cinderella outfit, Farah dressed as Ms Bahamas... Abi as a fussy Malaysian Princess... Zari as Poccahontas (got a bout of stage fright).. Sabirah stole the show with her modeling as Ms America, her sister Sawdah was a pretty lil Ms Baby America... there was also a tired Ms. Japan and a beautiful Ms. Mexico...

There were piniatas as well. So after beating the crap out of a Disney Princess, Mali finished her off with a blow to the head... the kids had a ball with this.

It was soooo good to see Bouji there. Uncle Kamal and Aunty Meena also came. In fact, most of the immediate family attended. Who did not come was either missed or missed out.

The tears rolled when the Video clip was shown. Against the backdrop of Michael Jackson's 'Gone too soon'... even the strongest melted as we collectively walked down memory lane and look at photos of the departed souls. How we miss them all - and how we wish we had another chance to say something to them. How we wish they could see us now.
There were also photo albums.

The food was good too. Pelau, cole slaw, garden salad, corn pie, potato salad, accra, barra 'n channa, stew chicken, hamburger, puffs, cup cakes......... the list of eats, drinks and snacks was endless.

Another highlight of the day was the viewing of the family tree, done by Sadro via the internet. It is a rich collection of data and photos worth viewing by anyone interested in the family's geneology.

It was a wonderful idea by Pinkey (and Siyyaad), who worked tirelessly to ensure it was pefect. And that it was!!! Aunty Hafo, Deena, Nafessa, Jamal, Sarge, Shameeda, Amina and the kids all worked hard too. Thanks to Naasir and Naasira.. and to all who worked behind the scenes.. if I did not mention you - I am sorry. But I know that Almighty God is surely showering you with blessings!

It was truly a great event, and we look forward to many many more....
